UK – Maybe not so gay?
Following LibDem MP Lynne Featherstone’s comments at her party conference this week that the UK is a ‘world leader in gay rights’ – it now seems that our society is more conservative than she would have us think.
Research from the Office of National Statistics suggest that:
* Coalition plans to allow homosexuals to marry will be unpopular, with only 45% of the population in favour.
* Homosexual adoption of children is even less popular.
* The number of civil partnership registrations has dropped to around 1000 per year, UK wide.
