Councils Can Pray

18/02/2012

The following is an extract from today’s Daily Express…

COUNCILS can put prayers back on agendas after a ruling was overturned yesterday.
Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles fast-tracked a new law granting local authorities freedom to hold prayers.

He said the decision on February 10 was “a blow for freedom to worship”, and his move was a victory for Parliament’s supremacy over interfering judges and for liberty over “political correctness”.

This follows the ruling that councils did not have power under 1972 laws to hold prayers.

At last – a victory for common sense!
