The Death Knell for Bag Ladies!

Bag ladies look out! Bags are to become an expensive luxury.

Next Monday, 8th April, our greedy Executive here in Norther Ireland will hit us poor humble citizens with a brand new tax.

Every time you visit a shop you will be charged 8p for a bag. Of course, it’s all in the cause of being environmentally friendly, for plastic bags litter the countryside.

But just for good measure, paper bags are taxable too, even if they are biodegradable.

Or is it just another excuse for politicians to stick their greedy hands into our pockets, while at the same time lining their own?

More taxation disguised as environmentalism.
